Make time to be active every day – preferably by water or in a green space.

Learn something new such as a musical instrument, dancing or a new language.

Spend time with someone whose company you really enjoy at least once a week.

Start a gratitude diary and note 3 things you are thankful for each morning and evening.

Remember the promise you made as a Cub Scout or Brownie and do a good turn every day.

Do something that takes you outside your comfort zone every day.

Hug someone each day – preferably someone you know…

Become a volunteer at a charity, help with a community project or simply help a friend or neighbor at least once a week.

If you know or suspect you have real problems with mood such as untreated anxiety or depression, make this the year you seek professional help to sort things out.
