Coaching is a conversation based process which helps people to evaluate where they are and clarify and move towards where they want to be. It is based on the principal that there is an equal relationship between the coach and the client.

Coaching differs from therapy in that it deals mainly with the future and is goal or outcome focused. Coaching can help with both problematic and positive issues.

For example, coaching can help people who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed but equally it can help people to work on specific issues such as leadership or time management skills or to help people to prepare for promotions.

Coaching is also different from training and mentoring in that it is non-judgmental and non–advisory.

Coaching helps people to understand themselves better, to find their own solutions to challenges and to overcome any fears and barriers to implementing those solutions.
